Ruunaa recreational mushing tour
Pia and Juha, the Kolihusky crew, arranged Ruunaa recreational mushing event at Ruunaa Matkailu. The weather was favorable for event. Both days the sun was shining and the morning was cold.
Soile's huskies
On the first day we started after midday, weather was perfect sun was shining. Track is very nice, crossing Ruunaa river two times. Crossing the river along suspension bridge with sled dog team is great experience. The Koskikierros track is private and maintained by Ruunaan Matkailu. You can pay little fee to Ruunaan Matkailu's office. The Ruunaa wildernerness is conversation area, government agency have two public campfire places along track. Other one is along Haapavitja rapids. The view is beatiful, you can touch there real harmony of Eastern Finland wilderness.
We drove two teams. Soile had four husky team and I drove nine dogs team. First day Soile was little bit afraid, because she is inexperienced musher. When tracks is hard, there is tight cornes for rookie.
Highlight of track is, when you drive counterclockwise, right after Neitikoski rapids. Right after suspension bridge is 90 degree turn on downhill. On inner curve is famous pine, which is kissed by many sleds.

The second day we started at morning, the day looked like becoming warmer. After cold night, morning fog made scenery more beatiful, if that was possible. Soile trusted her team more and enjoyed much more mushing than on first day.
